Rear Running Light Lenses: Amber or Red?

Hey Folks,

After bumbling around to modify my rear turn signals to also function as full time running lights, I'm now stuck on whether to use amber or red lenses. I prefer red for the running light function, but I think that amber is more visible to following traffic when in turn signal mode. Can't have it both ways.

Any opinions would be welcome.
